Cheltenham Fever Brewing Already!

Festival Fever is going about, a few early cases are emerging, but soon we will have a worldwide epidemic on our hands.

Cheltenham and Royal Ascot are two very different yet very special weeks in the racing diary. Cheltenham though has a build up like nothing else, with preview nights and weeks of debating being almost like the run up to Christmas when you were a kid.

It has started here already! The biggest talking point is THE CHAMPION CHASE and Sprinter Sacre! I am a firm believer that the best chaser I have ever seen can come back and reclaim his crown as Champion Chaser!

Horseracing Tips from X22 Bet

Max Bet From X22 Bet at Cheltenham

I have had a fairly frank exchange of views with my pal who claims “it has no chance, it is on the decline”. He has offered me TOP PRICE and I have had £500 on. Partly because I think he is talking nonsense. To say it has no chance is ridiculous and I must admit I expected better, more respect to Mr Henderson please if you will!

The one thing that we must remember is Sprinter Sacre is trained by the best, without question in my view, the very best trainer with a license. Martin Pipe is the best there has ever been for me, but Nicky Henderson is a close second and by far the best still training. The record books will tell you that, more Cheltenham winners than anyone else (still training) and a master of the game.

If Sprinter Sacre lines up in the Champion Chase, for me there is no question he will win. He may not be able to run to the form he did previously, about two stone better than anything else, but he was an immortal then! No horse has ever got close to the level he showed. I saw him smash the track record at Newbury, ON THE BRIDLE!

The Champion Chase this year is a weak affair. Sire De Grugy was woeful on Saturday, anyone backing that wants their eyes testing! There is not much in the field and if Sprinter Sacre is bang on right he will win. On his comeback Sprinter Sacre traveled well for most of the race and faded, possibly bleeding slightly. However he was off a long time and came back at a high level. He will now be working hard and Henderson will have him 100% on the day. It is hard to judge this horse by “normal” standards, but by normal standards his comeback was perfectly acceptable, running to about 165 in my opinion.

I think he will win, and for me it will either be hugely impressive, on the bridle or he will get beaten a long way. There is no middle ground I do not think with this horse. Bet365 are offering 5/2. Yes 11/4 is about BUT they are the only firm offering, currently, BEST ODDS GUARANTEED and NON RUNNER NO BET. So this is a HUGE incentive in my view and I have invested!

Cometh the hour, Cometh the man! Nicky Henderson is the man to pull this off and with Barry Geraghty in the saddle my investment could not be in better hands.

It will be one of the great sporting comebacks if he can do it, Cheltenham is made for great sporting moments! Sprinter Sacre will sock it to the doubters, the non believers and they will hail at the greatness of the best two mile chaser Cheltenham has ever seen!

Tony McCoy A Legend Retires From The Saddle

For the last 25 years Tony McCoy has announced his retirement from riding and will do so as a TWENTY TIME Champion Jockey!

We take him for granted but when he is gone in years to come we will appreciate that we were living in a special time. Legend is an over used word but without a shadow of a doubt AP McCoy is a legend, he is the greatest jump jockey we have ever seen. The stats tell you that!

Day in day out as a punter McCoy has lifted horses home and in if you are in a finish involving McCoy you know who is going to come out on top. Some of the rides he has given moderate horses beggars belief!

He is also the man for the big occasion, the one ride that sticks out for me above all others is the ride on WICHITA LINEMAN at Cheltenham, simple staggering! But there are so many run of the mill days that McCoy has done exactly the same thing on low grade horses. Day in day out McCoy did special things.

I have been punting full time for 10 years, seriously for 15 and about 25 years all in all. He has been the Champion for the last 20 years on the trot. My friend Simon said it will be strange when he has gone, and it will. When you look at what McCoy has achieved it is sensational reading. Richard Johnson has been second to him so many times in the Championship, so much so he is the second greatest jockey in terms of wins EVER! These have been golden times for the National Hunt racing.

There were plenty of people I know in shock yesterday and almost in mourning! I had to remind them that no one died, he just decided to stop riding, at the top and it must be looked at that this is a sad day for punters but for him and his family a joyous one. His family will see more of him and that must be great news for his daughter! I have never seen a man more devoted, so focused and many times he has traveled miles for just one ride. He is going out at the top, in one piece and whatever he does next he will be a success.

It has been a privilege as a punter and racing fan to be in the McCoy era. We will never see his achievements bettered, not in our lifetime anyway! Tony McCoy is simply the very best there has ever been and will be missed!

Always Tick No Reserves When Backing A Greyhound…

When backing a greyhound you must always tick the NO RESERVES BOX. Other bookmakers call this named dog, rather than trap number only. This is VITAL and should be done in 100% of cases. To be blunt it is wrong that this exists.

Free Greyhound Tips

Always tick the NO RESERVES BOX (eg is Bet365)

What this means is if your dog is a NON RUNNER then your bet is cancelled. If the NO RESERVES box is not ticked, you are backing the trap number. Quite often they will put in a reserve. Nearly always in graded racing will a reserve run. Your bet, if you have not specified no reserves or named dog would then go on to the reserve at SP.

It is nonsense that you can bet one dog and end up on another, all bets should be cancelled, but they are NOT so ALWAYS ensure you tick NO RESERVES or NAMED DOG! It could save you lots of money!

Big Winners From X22 Saturday

Tiggy Wiggy showed her class again as she claimed Group One honours in the Connolly’s Red Mills Cheveley Park Stakes as advised by George Green, the headline MAX BET in Saturday’s Betting Times. Returned at an amazing 11/8. George Green can not believe it…

“How on earth Tiggy went off at 11/8 is the greatest mystery of the season for me. I had her down as an odds on shot, I never had a moments doubt. Remember always bet with best odds guaranteed!”

George Green has advised 6 winners from 11 bets! He delivers the profits to his members, his last three bets have all been max bets and have all WON!

Tiggy Wiggy romps home at Newmarket

The big winners did not stop there. The Professor was unlucky not to land a 9/1 winner with Dursey Sound, advised each way at 9-1. The services continued to deliver the winners. THE SPY, Michael Stone continued his amazing winning run with an easy 5/2 winner at HQ, with TAQNEYYA. The Spy has delivered 15 winners from 26 bets in September, to date and over 15 points profit to SP.

Betting Co also had a 5/2 winner with CHESIL BEACH at Chester. Another BIG winning service, 7 winners from 16 bets this month. The last two bets have been max bets and won well.

Ken Walters, based in Middleham, who runs the M and M service, had his DOUBLE MAX BET of the year and landed the spoils with the Brian Ellison trained MANHATTAN SWING at 11/4 over the sticks at Market Rasen.

Arabic History was also a winner at Market Rasen for Motor Mouth who bounced back from a slow week to deliver big this week!

All X22 members were rewarded with a FREE BET from the 20/20 service….

Free Horseracing Tips

The 2020 Service only advise MAX BETS and they are our No 1 Profit Producers at X22. The free bet at Wolverhampton was LA NAPOULE which won at 9/4.

Speaking of topping the leader board, the Ryder Cup Max Bet, Europe are in a very strong position! We should be collecting on Sunday with Adrian Fall!  The X22 football bets were also big winners with only Forest failing to win. All the other bets came in.

X22 really is the home of winners!

Big Day Of Big Winners For X22 Punters

John Cooper Bets

The Professor opened his account with a 7/2 winner, but John Cooper matched that as he also advised his legion of followers a 7/2 winner in the shape of RIGHT OF APPEAL at Hamilton.  Jason Hackett advised EXITAS at 11/2 early, returned at 4/1. There were winners for The Irish Pro, Robert Smart (yet again) and THE TITAN BET was the easiest winner of the day! A great day for X22 customers on Sunday.

John Cooper gives you his view of the weekend…

I am on the train back to York. My place is sold, just the solicitors to drag their feet and justify their big fee for shuffling paper and making life complicated. I am moving in a couple of weeks up North! Can’t wait. I have a good pal who lives just up the road near Middleham and he has given my members a great weekend.

MIDLANDER was a unlucky horse until yesterday and I was told that yesterday was the day, we could NOT see it beaten, as it proved and the job was done at Catterick. At Hamilton you can put your last pound on Mark Johnston having a winner. RIGHT OF APPEAL was strongly fancied, at least by us, yet in the market it was friendless. I kept ringing Ken asking if it had lost a leg!

It was not even close, RIGHT OF APPEAL WON EASY, returned 7/2. It just shows the market doesn’t always get it right! So two great winners there, both from KEN!

I am a big football fan, if you look me up on Facebook you will see my affinity is to Manchester United. I don’t really use facebook to interact, but I do like the Man Utd pages. It is funny watching the hoards of Manchester United haters revelling in the clubs current plight.

You know United have problems when they go 2-0 up and come away 5-3 losers to Leicester. No disrespect to The Foxes but to lose like that the alarm bells are ringing loudly. Things are not right at United. No question Van Gaal is a top class manager, but what damage has David Moyes’ tenure had on the club. Reading Rio Ferdinand’s book, serialised in the papers, you get the impression that they were not impressed one bit with Moyes. They are now a club in turmoil. The players are much better than their present performances. How good was Sir Alex Ferguson?

I mention United because in racing we have our own version of Sir Alex, Tony McCoy. Last week I wrote about how good Ryan Moore is, over jumps McCoy is not only the best of now, he is the best there has ever been. His stats are incredible. We are witnessing a living legend, a true great. It was the same as Sir Alex Ferguson, I honestly do not think there is anyone close to being able to fill his shoes. The man is a colossus and simply the best of ll time. Anyone who wants to debate that point must be crazy.

The fact is this. In Richard Johnson we have the second greatest of all time, his stats are amazing, yet he lives in the shadow of McCoy. he has never been Champion Jockey, yet in any other era Richard Johnson would have been champion over and over again. It just illustrates the greatness of AP McCoy. He is a true great and we are privileged to be about to see him. Like Sir Alex we will not see his like again for a very long time!

Sir Henry Cecil trains Timepiece

Sir Henry Cecil the best Ever!

Mind you, I said that about Sea The Stars, then along came a certain Frankel. Without a shadow of a doubt Frankel is the greatest horse that ever lived. He was also trained by the greatest trainer that ever lived. I do not cry very much but the passing of Sir Henry Cecil made me weep like a baby!

I am probably going to cop some stick for rambling on, but this is a blog, and a blog is where one imparts their thoughts on anyone wanting to read them! I also find it a great way to keep focus.

I will arrive in York shortly, and I can get a signal to post this on the site. I am booked in a lovely B and B for the week, lots to sort out for the move. I am off to the dogs with Carl this week, definitely Tuesday with the Viking Jack massive and may be Nottingham Monday night.

The big racing of the week is NEWMARKET which kicks off on Thursday. There is some decent racing let me tell you. Saturday will be a good card there and I already have a couple marked out. It has been a great weekend, lets make sure we carry on winning!

Motor Mouth Leads as Both Men Land Max Bets Day One…

John Cooper drew first blood on day one at Doncaster but Motor Mouth quickly landed one to even up the first day and take a small lead!

  • JOHN COOPER + 1 point
  • MOTOR MOUTH +1.75 points

John Cooper talks you through day one at Doncaster…

It is early, very early, I was up at 5am to get stuck in to the cards today. Motor Mouth is staying in Sheffield and I am staying in York. It is only a short train journey to Doncaster from York and I have so many friends in York that put me up, or as they say put up with me, and I have a great time! That Chinese restaurant is superb, The Regency. Another top meal there and a great evening topped off a great day.

I had never met Motor Mouth before Tuesday, although I knew who he was and honestly I thought I wouldn’t get on with him. We are chalk and cheese, yet we do get on, albeit with plenty of banter. I suppose it is because we both live and die by the sword, slaves to Lady Luck and the Betting Gods.

Wednesday at Doncaster

It was not an appealing card in all honesty. I met up with MM and had a coffee and a seafood platter before racing. We both agreed that extending the meeting to four days has watered it down with Wednesday being the worst of those, but it gets better from here! The legends race right in the middle of the card, so it counts for placepots and jackpots I firmly do not agree with, although it was great to see so many of the old jockeys. Dale Gibson won the race and looked like he had never been away. Great guy is Dale, bright as a button and I was pleased he won. I never had a penny on the race, it was just a bit of fun!

The ladies were out in force yesterday, we will see some sights this week. Don’t take that the wrong way, there will be some horror shows, but the Yorkshire folk take the Leger to their hearts and I love Yorkshire people. I am actually looking at renting a house in York, I have so many friends up here and seem to spend all my time here, but the truth is moving is a hassle. Happily my place is my own but needs plenty of work. A project for the 3 months I hate, DEC, JAN and FEB. God they are bleak. I actually went to Dubai last year for a month in February. I loved it, I will go again for a break and go racing to Meydan, it is something else!

That is all for later! I played it safe yesterday in all fairness with the challenge bet. ANGELIC LORD was always going to be too good and evens was a decent price. The Meehan horse came out so the price went odds on, but once the race got underway it was game over. Interesting what Dascombe told the press afterwards;

Tom Dascombe: “The yard has been quiet, that’s no secret, so it’s nice to have a winner. There’s nothing wrong with them, we just had a fast start to the season and a lot of the horses are now badly handicapped. We need to have a chat about whether he’s going to the sales or not because I think there’ll be plenty more to come from him. He’s got plenty of options for the end of the year, but he just has a tendency to hang a bit. It’s already cost him a place in a Group race.”

Just a tip Tom, if you are taking him to the sales, talk him up not down!  Nice bloke Tom Dascombe and it shows you he is straight as a die! Well done for a great winner there and THANK YOU!

Anyway that gave me the upper hand and I put old Big Gob under pressure. Well I tried! He has more self confidence than God himself. In fairness CLON BRULEE was always going to win that race. Motor Mouth had also played it safe, it wasn’t a great card and it was important for us to get off to a great start. The 7/4 early was an amazing price and well done to him.

Clon Brulee opened 11/8 on track and was backed in to 6/5. A bit of a gamble landed and hats off Motor Mouth is in front, but not by much and it is all to play for over the next three days!

I may play my NAP today, I better get stuck in to the cards!!

ANGELIC LORD WON ADV EVENS (John Cooper) + 1 point

CLON BRULEE WON ADV 7/4 (Motor Mouth) +1.75 points
