Jack Lands 50/1 EW 3 Steps Money

SECOND! I am so proud of Jack in the twilight of his career to finish second in the Three Steps. Normally finishing second is heartbreaking BUT in Patchys Kerry we were up against a superstar and there is no shame in that, in fact quite the opposite! Watch the race here on YOUTUBE

Viking Jack landed some HUGE BETS for members as we advised him EACH WAY at 50/1 with Paddy Power. I had £50 ew with them and the same at 40/1 with Ladbrokes. It was a great result for the legion of Viking Jack fans and he has amassed many.

He collects £1000 in prize money for the second place. He has amassed some CV Jack and he is a truly special dog. He is not yet four but he will have one more campaign the 2016 William Hill Derby. That will be his last, although we may have a farewell race at Sheffield for him, which we will call The Viking Jack Retirement Stakes. We will toast his success. But there is the Derby and Jack is no back number, he showed some pace, he was semi finalist last year.

He never ever gives up Jack – I am so proud of him. I will be having him at home with me, I have told the family he is coming and thats that! He will also go to stud, but will travel to his stud duties which I guess makes me some kind of pimp! Hey ho!

What a journey, the best dog EVER, well he is for me!

Jack is One Step Away!

Viking Jack is one step away from the THREE STEPS but standing in his way is a formidable bitch in PATCHYS KERRY! She is rightly 1/3 and should win if all goes to plan.

It is a BIG IF though! She is a six bend bitch who excels over this trip but still posted exceptional times over 480 and 500, being just shy of the track record over 500 in the semis. Jack is getting better but it is hard, in honesty to see him beating Kerry.

However you have to be in it to win it and as the only wide seed, in a race of five railer’s anything can happen. No one ever wants trouble in a ace, but it happens and if there are any traffic problems Jack could capitalise. It would be a dream come true to win it, but the heart may long for it the head says Kerry will be away and gone and we are all playing for second.

I always think what if I didn’t own Jack, what would I do, well I would double all my bets with Kerry tonight. Luckily I do own Jack and I will be cheering him on from the Arabian Gulf. I am on at 50-1 and 40-1 so a place in the first 4 will be a decent pay day, winning it would of course be HUGE with the prize money! The prize is £10k tonight!

You can watch Jack on Sky Sports tonight at 21.08, he runs in Trap 6.

Jack Makes The 3 Steps Final

Second, no win BUT I will take that, he made up for last year’s disappointment when he stumbled out of the traps and will run in Tuesday’s 3 Steps To Victory Final Live on Sky.

The journey continues, a dog of a lifetime Viking Jack! I posted this on Twitter after the race,

I have no words to describe what Jack has achieved tonight. Another cat one final. The third year he has done it. He is a dog of a lifetime!

I genuinely have no words. Outstanding achievement to reach a Category One Final yet again AND to come back from injury to do it. Our chances of victory look remote if Patchys Kerry runs her race she is OUTSTANDING and was almost inside the track record over 500m. The one hope is that there are FIVE railers and one wide seed, Jack is perfectly drawn, but toe to toe with Kerry, she will win.

However as a punter of 25 years seriously betting I can tell you there is only one thing certain in racing, which is nothing is ever certain!

If you took the 50/1 EW advised you must be confident now. I am on at 50/1 and 40/1 which will pay 12/1 and 10/1 for the place, first 4. I posted yesterday the personal dream to get to the three steps final.

I will be away! I m going to Abu Dhabi for a long standing engagement, so will miss Damson Jam and Viking Jack’s finals. Sod’s Law, however the wonders of modern technology mean I will be watching, at 1-30 in the morning, but never the less I will.

Who knows what could happen, but Viking Jack is one in a million and I am so proud of him, he never ever gives up, a lesson for each and every one of us for life!

Three Steps Final Draw

Viking Jack Qualifies for Semis

There are some people in life who could learn from Viking Jack. He never gives up and never knows when he is beaten. He was last at the second bend and got up to qualify in second place for the semi final of the Three Steps To Victory at Sheffield.

Watch the race here on our website- CLICK HERE

This was over 480 and Jack made things hard missing the break and getting squeezed out on the run up. He was last at the second bend but he showed he is still a top dog and got up for second. The format is the first two qualify from the heats for the semi finals over 500m next Tuesday and the final is over the six bends the following week on Sky.

He has a good chance of making the final. Remember last year he stumbled coming out of the traps in the semi’s. here are the draws for next Tuesday’s Semi Finals…

Tuesday’s semis, 500m
1st semi 1 Clonkeen Snowy 2 Thirteen Bags 3 Mustang Chick 4 Patchys Kerry 5 Clever Jamie (m) 6 Coolboy Blitz (w)
2nd semi 1 Roxholme Hottie 2 Satin Mark 3 Lowgate Rock 4 Cattrigg Croft 5 Ribble Aon (m) 6 Viking Jack (w)

It is a shame that Lowgate Rock is in the same heat but we can both go through! Readers who have 40-1 and indeed 50-1 which Paddy Power were offering are on a value bet now!

Never say die! Viking Jack the dog of a lifetime! Now for step two, next week!

Bob Davis Greyhound Bets Tuesday

Bob DavisThe 3 steps to victory begins tonight and im advising an ante post bet on our favourite bitch Patchys Kerry 7/2 Bet365.

Shes got everything needed to win this comp.Im also having a little bit Each Way on Viking Jack at 40/1 Lads. Onto the RPGTV action and ive a few strong fancys tonight.

Kicking off in the 7.39 Harlow, Trap 2 Santo Rossi. I could kick myself as turned this fella down at a cracking price as wasnt sure would suit the flapping game, ive followed him closely and his win at Yarmouth was scintilating. He trapped level and withing 20 yards he was 5 lengths clear. He blew the final bend or else im sure would have shook the clock.2/1 in th Post, thats massive.Ill be happy with anything odds against.

Towcester stage a full open race card and im going in on Trap 1 Oakfield Ceaser in the 7.21. Very unlucky last week , he should make amends.

8.34 and i think Trap 2 Trapper Kate can take care of these, she will behind early, but my god does she finish, i expect her to win.

At 10.11 Trap 4 Trapper Kerry, (Kates sister) can also win to make it a family double, another strong finisher, she can arrive late and fast to win.

Im just having the 1 single bet at Sheffield , 7.43 Trap 5 Sidarian Bullet, he has improved for me since going south to Romford for a minor comp which he won easily. He can blast out the boxes to account for the likel hot favourite Target Harris.

Best of luck Bob

Viking Jack 40-1 In 3 Steps

Viking Jack runs at Sheffield’s Owerlton Stadium Tonight, and might be some value at 40-1 with Ladbrokes. Tonight is the start of the three steps to victory.

Last year he stumbled at the start of the semi final, he then won the Derby trial on final night. Jack has been coming back from injury and it is fair to say he has been unlucky. He has been in HOT races every time, and last week the race was won in lightning quick time.

In this competition, he has a chance IF he can get through tonight. The format is 3 rounds….

  • Round 1, 480m, first 2 qualify from 6 heats
  • Round 2, 500m, first 3 qualify from 2 semi finals
  • Final, over 6 bends- winner takes the crown.

The first two going through means that he will have to get a good start and run well to qualify. If he does then genuinely it it game on. We will need more luck than of late, but having said that at 40-1 you do not need to go mad.

Jack is well and given some luck we could have a last hurrah in the 3 steps in what is Jack’s last year. As a local lad this is a big competition and one I would dearly love to win!

Come on Jack, lets go out with a BIG ONE!

Jack Through to Semi Final in Quick Time

Roxholme Dream came home ahead of Jack in an amazing 27.38 secs in the fastest heat of the night, Jack missed the break but was safely through to the semi-finals…

The leger winner showed why she is red hot fav to win this competition, BUT the 500m semi finals will suit Jack. Over six bends this bitch looks unbeatable, but as we know anything can happen.

You can not miss the break at this level and I tell you what, there will hardly ever be a day when you can run 27.50 over Sheffield’s 480m and get beat! The heat was won in only a length off the clock, this is greyhound racing at the VERY highest level. We are in to the semi-finals and Jack is running well!

Well done to Jim Hayton who got all three of his dogs through, watch Onyx in Jack’s race, he came from miles back and Lowgate Jasper is a real player in this competition winning the final heat. It is game on for next week, I love it and I can’t wait!

Jack is in the hat for the draw for the semi finals, which will be posted below when the draw is made by the GBGB….

Get On Viking Jack 12/1 for Three Steps at Sheffield

Our dog Viking Jack, who landed us that colossal punt to win the Monmore Gold Cup in August, at 20/1, is back in action on Tuesday in the opening round of the THREE STEPS TO VICTORY!

It is not an easy heat! the first round is run over 480m and we have drawn Leger winner Roxholme Dream but with the first three going through we should be OK. The semi-final is over 500m and the final over 6 bends. It is a great test of all round speed and stamina.

Jack has a very good chance. He has won over 4 and 6 bends at Sheffield and clocked 28.60 over 500m last week on his comeback run.

If the top stayers get through Jack will be up against it in the final BUT it could be hard for them over 480m on Tuesday. I do think Roxholme Dream will be hard to beat and is a worth favourite BUT at 12/1 Jack is a great price in my view. If the final is made up of 4 bend dogs Jack would be big fav, BUT the beauty is you never know!

We think Jack may in fact be a better dog over 6 bends this year, he is NOT yet 3 years old and is reaching his peak, physically! I am actually VERY EXCITED. As a Yorkshire lad, Owlerton Stadium is my favourite greyhound track and it would be a dream come true to win a top competition there!

Jack ran in THREE category one finals in 2014 including the GRAND PRIX over 6 bends at Newcastle, The Steel City Cup at Sheffield and The Monmore Gold Cup which he won! He is a top dog and looks BETTER THAN EVER this year if his first run back is anything to go by!

I can’t wait! Come on Jack, here we go again!
