George Green Looks at Tiggy Wiggy’s Chance on Saturday

GEORGE GREEN

I have never posted on a blog before. I didn’t know how to write a blog post, until I was told it is like a newspaper article. I started out years ago as a reporter in the North East, so it really brings back memories. That was many years ago now to be fair, it is much easier with computers and spell checks. You would get one hell of a telling off if you made spelling mistakes in the old days. It is amazing how basic spelling skills have been eroded with the advent of spell check!

Tiggy Wiggy is the star two year old of the season. Tiggy Wiggy, trained by the master 2 year old trainer Richard Hannon is a spped ball. Her last two wins have come at Newbury and York, and now lines up in the 10-runner Cheveley Park Stakes (3.10) at Newmarketon Saturday.

Tiggy Wiggy will start red hot favourite following impressive wins in Newbury’s Weatherbys Super Sprint and then the Lowther Stakes at York, but is the hype justified?

Tiggy Wiggy beat Anthem Alexander at York, having finished second to the Irish raider in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot. They square up again tomorrow. As to be expected, there are several good prospects in the field, with Tendu and High Celebrity particularly catching the eye among the less-exposed fillies.

Tiggy Wiggy the star 2yo of 2014

The Timeform ratings Tiggy Wiggy recorded at Newbury and York, they have posted,  would have been good enough to have won all but one of the last 24 renewals of this race and she’s hard to get away from.  That is high quality form. I always like to red what Richard Hannon posts on his excellent website….

THIS IS FROM THE RICHARD HANNON WEBSITE…

PROFESSIONALS will tell you with some justification that recent runnings of the Cheveley Park Stakes have been Group 1’s in name only, but there is nothing below-par about Saturday’s renewal, and, while our own Tiggy Wiggy is a deserves favourite, we know that she has plenty on her plate at Newmarket against the likes of Anthem Alexander, High Celebrity and Tendu.

However, Richard Hughes is confident that Tiggy Wiggy, who has won five of her seven races, will come through her biggest test yet, and, having won the Lowther Stakes so well, this was the natural progression for a filly who had her first race of the season on the very first day, kick-starting our year with a victory on the polytrack at Kempton.

Richard Hannon said:”Tiggy Wiggy has put on weight since the Lowther, and, though she has had a long season, she certainly looks better than she did in March.

“She is such a good-mover and what makes her special is that when the others are shortening their strides towards the end of the race, she is lengthening.

“She was hugely impressive in the National Stakes at Sandown, and, though she was beaten in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot, that encouraged us that six furlongs would not be a problem.

“What she did in the Super Sprint at Newbury was amazing, but the real test came at York as it was a very hot Lowther and she won in terrific fashion. We won’t think about the Prix de l’Abbaye until after the race – the Cheveley Park is one of the great races in the calendar and it would be fantastic if she could pull it off.”

The truth is, if she runs as he did at York she will win, she would need to run well below that not to win. She seems to be getting better and better with every run. Six furlongs is her trip and there will be NO concerns with the ground. She is all speed, she keeps galloping to the line.

Tiggy at 11/10 looks a Max Bet….

In my view Tiggy Wiggy should be an odds an shot and will probably go off odds on, the 11/10 generally available is a good price in my view. I advised my members to have a MAX BET on Friday on LUCIDA who Won at 11/10. Tiggy Wiggy would be a better MAX BET at the price in my view.

It jas been a good week, BAILEYS CONCERTO WON 3/1 THURSDAY, then LUCIDA WON 11/10 FRIDAY, now I will be advising a MAX BET on TIGYY WIGGY on Saturday. In my view Tiggy Wiggy is the best bet of the day on Saturday!
