Who Will Win The Cambridgeshire?

by Carl Harris CORNROW CAN LAND THE CAMBRIDGESHIRE FOR GOSDEN STABLE

The Cambridgeshire is the first leg of the ‘autumn double’ – John Gosden won the race in 2007 with a similar type, market leader Pipedreamer, and then followed up a year later with Tazeez,Cornrow looks laid out for this and John Gosden has a huge chance again with Cornrow, a worthy market leader!

The four-year-old son of Derby hero New Approach is still lightly-raced, but has won three times in five starts. He won at Haydock on his first start this summer before finishing third in a competitive contest at Ascot last time. He looks to be just the progressive type for this and is sure to take the step up in trip in his stride under William Buick.

John-Gosden

Gosden told the press;

“Cornrow is a very generous horse at home and gives 110 per cent, which is not always what you want as a trainer. I ran him over seven furlongs at Ascot last time and he nearly won despite the distance being a bit sharp for him. I think the trip and track will suit him this weekend. I ran Maverick Wave the other day as he was so fresh at home. He should also go well, depending how the draw pans out. I’m not saying they are Group horses like my previous winners, but they both have solid chance.”

I think this is a VERY WELL HANDICAPPED HORSE! I disagree with the trainer, I think this horse could go on to group company!
